If you’ve never seen the series before and are curious about its quality, I can assure you that it’s pretty good! 8.0/10 is a respectable IMDb score, and in Rottentomatoes, the show has a 86% average audience score. So definitely, this show is in my book. If you’re still undecided about seeing it, have a look at what others had to say about it after you.

Reviews

Nothing happens in the first season. It’s the same training humor, montage-style transactions, money issues, and adultery subplot. There is far too much stuff. That is not a spoiler, but that is the tone of the entire season, with everyone picking on Ali. This should be a six-episode season. Ali Brie is a ridiculously overrated actress. If you’re a fan of this program, can you imagine how she behaves as a successful writer in real life? I get that it’s intended to be humorous, but so many other women would have been more suited for this part; they could have done something more body positive and realistic and have been better. Nobody is discussing that, only bashing on people who honestly critique programs and films that utilize social justice as a marketing tool, emphasizing things like an all-female cast above substance. Brie would be laughed out of the ring if she depicted a true GLOW; check the Netflix documentary if you don’t believe me. It’s poor casting, but they went for the “big name” rather than being socially progressive and casting someone body positive. Utilizing a female cast in a genuine ladies wrestling organization program is already brave. Essentially, it pushed too hard for the “see how brilliantly we pulled off an all-female cast!” message. Instead of using the concept’s potential, Bc it might have been fantastic. I’m sure many will despise my review, but I was pretty dissatisfied with the first season’s lack of action, if I’m candid.
